Soil Sample Collection Method

The most important aspect of soil analysis is its sampling. The samples should represent the entire field. The Field under study should be demarked / divided into uniform portions on the basis of fertility status, slope, color, texture, management, cropping patterns etc. Each portion must be sampled separately. Sample should not be collected from the roadside area, irrigation channels, compost pits, tree shades etc. The pictorial representation of a soil collection pattern is shown
